How does it work?

Hair Reduction - the combination of red and yellow light delivered by Chromolite , targets the whole hair follicle structure, raising the temperature and causing its subsequent destruction.

Skin Rejunvenation- The yellow light absorbs into blood targets and thus can effectively be used to coagulate and collapse vascular irregularities, the red light targets unwanted pigmentation and the combination of both lights stimulates collagen production to improve kin structure and educe fine lines and laxity.

Active Acne - P.Acnes bacteria builds up within the hair follicles and causes the inflamed and painful spots of active acne. This bacteria is destroyed by exposure to the light given out by Chromolite , reducing the visible spots. At the same time, the rejuvenation effects of Chromolite improve the skin environment to help control future outbreaks.

Can anyone have treatment?

There are a few people that may not be suitable for treatment due to their particular circumstances such as medical history. Before starting treatment Crystal Beauty will schedule a consultation session with our trained Chromolite operator to discuss your suitability for treatment, explain any pre and post treatment requirements and answer any further questions you may have. At this time they may also perform a patch test to assess your skin sensitivity.

Are there any side-effects of treatment?

With the majority of treatments there are little or no visible after-effects so you can resume your normal routine quickly. Some parts of the body are more sensitive than others and may redden and swell, similar to the effects you experience with too much sun exposure. The clinic will advise you of the aftercare required to minimise this occurring. It is very important to avoid UV exposure 6 weeks before and after each treatment as this dramatically increases the risk of side-effects and can reduce results. During the treatment you are likely to have some sensations of heat but if you feel any discomfort during the treatment please tell your Operator immediately.

How many treatments will I need?

For hair reduction the number of treatments required varies, depending on the density and location of the hair growth. Hair follicles constantly cycle through 3 stages of growth and only one of these stages is suitable for treatment with light therapy. Approximately 20- 30% of hair follicles in an area are in the growing phase at any one time and can treated. Typically an area will need between 5-8 sessions to reduce visible hair growth, however, extremely course, dense hair for instance, a man!s beard, may take longer. Your Chromolite Operator will be able to make a cleared estimate of the number of treatments you will require after the first 1-3 sessions once they can assess how well your body is responding to the Chromolite . When treating the skin for rejuvenation or active acne a course of treatments is also required. The number required depends on the severity of the condition. Most people require between 6-10 sessions, however some condition, such as freckles, may only require 1 or 2 treatments.
